Sorry, Cheryl, I have never used that particular brand. Not sure why as I have a bit of almost everything!

Cheryl, I've used it for awhile-not all colors, but many and have been very satisfied. The only one that seemed to break a lot was the white, but I'll try that again just in case it was something other than the thread itself. I've ordered more and expect to be satisfied with this as well. I also ordered the thread chart ($3.00) and it's actual thread wound around the cardboard so colors are exact. There's lots of info on Sewforum. I think you may be able to access it by the search and if not just ask and someone will give you the link of many discusions. Service as far as my experience has been excellent.

I have both the 66 small spools that came out months ago,, and the 109 large spool pack,,, (those are all the spool on the wall in my sewing room,),, I made the scissor case with them, plus other things, so far i have used about 10 colors,, my D1 sews with it good.. no problems yet.. it,,, but i do put the spools on a stand so it unrolls off the top...

I've never used it either, thanks for the info about it. Might give it a try when I go somewhere that sells it.

Post Re: Metro Embroidery Thread
I've seen this discussion going on for a while at SF and from the get go I've been wondering the same thing...

a store when they put them up for sales for us they buy those spools wholesale from a distributor right?

the distributor buys it from teh manufacturer... since most threads come from overseas... more often then not come here by boat... and more often then not, after paying the manufacturer, the transporter to the boat, the boat transport, duties, taxes and again transport from boat to warehouse, a spool generally costs more then 0.50 to the distributor...

How can a spool get directly to a customer under the actual cost of getting thread here? I'm still trying to figure out how it's possible OR what's the catch.

Sorry, don't mean to be a bore or an annoyance... but this info has been posted on MP (who sells many kinds of threads), on SF (who also sells many kinds of threads) and now here (who sells only a few kinds)... since none of the other places are asking any questions, I figured I might as well be the one to ask.

Where is the thread coming for by the way, in terms of country... is it being shipped to people out of the US or directly from overseas?

Haven't tried it and probably won't. Once I find something I like and works perfectly for me, I don't often switch...call me a creature of habit, but once I fell in love with the Floriani poly thread, that was it...my collection is fairly extensive at this point and I don't need to switch to an unknown. Floriani is readily available, comes in a wide range of colors, consistent quality, and stitches like a dream on my machine....I figure that I get my money's worth with it....Do I sound like an advertisement???? hysterical hysterical

rotflol yes you do... I bet the Floriani people would hire you... rotflol

no my main concern here is this nagging conscience of mine. I don't understand how something like that is possible without some kind of fall out for either or both sides involved... either for the company involved is going the China way (which reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw in NY state a little while ago that said something like... Are you out of a job yet? Keep buying Chinese... or something of the kind... ) or sooner or later we will find out that there was in fact a catch... either scenario doesn't seem good.

Marie, you have a good point...how do the economics of this work??? Doesn't make sense even if they own the manufacturing co...There are still costs involved in shipping, packaging, processing orders, warehousing, employees, insurances, not to mention profits for the owners. If they are taking a loss to acquire new customers, where does it go from there??

It is great to have options, but I think I'll continue to support my favorite suppliers and small businesses both locally and internet as I want them to remain in business for the long term.

I bought all of the colors they offer and my Brother 700ii loves it. It has a beautiful shine to the thread which I love. I've been very satisfied. I don't know the economics of it and I don't really care much. It's good thread at a good price.
