Need Kitchen Towel Ideas with Chili Peppers
Good Morning, I am so new at machine embroidery I have been "lurking" for quite a while. I am trying to locate a cute idea for some kitchen towels for my sister who has a kitchen decor of chili peppers. Could someone point me in a direction of some cute designs? Does anyone have some cute ideas? so much, Beverly P.S. love the smiles

Hey Beverley welcome to the forum - you dont say where you are located so I will assume in the U.S. - I have seen lots and lots of chili pepper fabric every time I visit Arizona - at Walmarts they had black background with chili pepper fabric and they had chili pepper fabric at Joanns. http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/search.asp ... i%20pepper lots of designs here from red work to embossed which you could do on a white terry towel in red thread and of course lots of regular designs too.

Welcome, Beverly! A lot of us "check in" & lurk when dealing with time issues, so don't be shy, ask any question (we all have many of them) & you will be astounded with the many answers, suggestions, & friendly pointers available here! I'm not into the chili peppers, myself, but I have seen many designs with those & others will be quick to point you in many directions. Susan

Welcome, Beverly! Glad to see you join us. Please feel free to ask any questions; we've all be where you are, beginners! So you'll find lots of good help from us (along with stories of our boo boos). Here is a link to a chili pepper towel I did using a design from San Francisco Stitch Co. It was a part of a set of veggie designs but you might be able to purchase it by itself. http://s90.photobucket.com/albums/k253/ ... 009025.jpg If you look around my album you can see some of the other designs in the set itself. My daughter loves chili pepper designs; this one is probably my favorite as it is applique and can be toned up or down by my fabric choices. I used scraps of a multi colored fabric for this towel.

Re: Need Kitchen Towel Ideas with Chili Peppers
http://www.sewforum.com/viewtopic.php?f ... ili+pepper free design but you have to join the forum to see the designs and download them but well worth it because there is always eye candy to see on a daily basis from what girls have made posted either in the childrens stuff or show off your projects not children related. At Embroidery library if you are not familiar with it you can buy an inexpensive design then add the others to your wish list and wait for a sale (if you buy something you get an invite to the special sales) and you can then buy anything in your wish list for 50% off or whatever the special sale is - my wish list is full just in case.

Agree with shirley there are a lot of neat designs at embroidery library. Did any of you see this clever way to do a tea or hand towel? I saw this last night and thought now isn't that clever. http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/elprojects ... tID=PR1491 Oh and yes...welcome welcome welcome shel

Re: Need Kitchen Towel Ideas with Chili Peppers
for all the cute cute places to find designs. Decisions, decisions now. I wanted to tell you a little more about myself. I live in Tallahassee, FL, at least for now, possibly moving to VA if the house sells!. Own a drapery workroom and got into embroidery as an addition to my drapery business. Well the bug bit and the draperies have taken a side-line now. for all the warm welcomes. I will feel quite comfortable in asking questions and offering what little help I may have. Again, love all the smiles. Beverly

Welcome Beverly, do join us often and share your projects as well as questions. I'd venture to say that all of us can really identify with being bitten by that very same bug...

Re: Need Kitchen Towel Ideas with Chili Peppers
Welcome Beverly. So glad that you've joined us. Ah, draperies. A world unto its own. You must have a fairly large work area. Oh, I'm so envious of your space. The last set I made were raw silk, backed with blackout. A friend in town had them made for her daughter. (She's married to a Canadian Ambassador.) So the joke is they hang in the Ottawa Embassy home. Lots of work that goes into making curtains. I'm a seamstress in a little village in northern Ontario.
In addition to the other suggestions, at Sew Forum, there's a set - Fruits and Veggies from Gone Sewing and another set Hot Pepper Friends from Julia's Needle. Happy searching and nice to meet you.-Cheryl
