Post Stitching with dgd
Our dgd is visiting this month and wanted to learn to sew. Her first project was digging in a box of old 5" squares and piecing them together in no particular pattern, just to get used to the sewing machine. She ended up making them into a little quilt which she quilted herself with the machine...she is so proud of her work. Then we moved on to a pillowcase (sorry no pic) that she stitched up for her dad for Father's day...did a great job with French seams and all.
Then she wanted to make a pillow for Lucky...the cat. She chose the fabric, thread color, and lettering...embroidered, stitched, stuffed with bits of trimmings from fleece blankets that she loves to cut up. We're both having a good time, and she is working on a second little quilt now.

Absolutely... I'm hoping when hubby's gkids get older, they will be able to come visit for some extended visits and then they can learn some of 'basics' in life from us seniors. They know their way around electronics, video games are their specialty, and I know they were able to take apart and assemble DVD players by the time they were 5.

I'd love to be able to inspire the creative energy they have, but that isn't likely to happen any time soon. You are so lucky to have your gd be able to come and stay with you. Thank You for sharing those visits with us.
